Decided that I would run this race only because it was my birthday and I thought that it sounded like a fun thing to do on my birthday. The race started on time and the course was a tough one. I started out in a pack of guys adn had no idea what place I was in until the 5k/10k split and I soon realized that I was in 4th place. I felt like I was running under control and not pushing it real hard not knowing how my conditioning is this year after being injured all last year. By mile 4 I knew that I was not going to catch the #3 guy and at the start I knew that the #1 and #2 guy were going to be fast. They had on Big Sky Cross Country Championship gear on. Mile 4 was a dandy and mile 5 was not as easy either. I was glad that I was able to recover after all of the hills and finish strong. Kellie and the boys came over and watched and then we went to cafe rio and then Kellie and I had a great night out for my birthday.

The course measured short....Some people had 6, others 6.08 but no one had 6.2, very frustrating.

Nice race! What a fun way to spend your bday, and to have the fam come out to cheer you, too. That is a great January race. 2011 s/b a good one! Happy bday, old man :D

Ugggh I have a hard time when I run races that are a little short. I want it to be accurate.

Happy belated birthday and nice work at this race. You always amaze me.
