Long-Term Running Goals: Stay healthy so that I can run long into my life! Try and get faster on shorter miles this winter. Try and focus on having fun with running and helping other people along the way!

| Ran on the treadmill today and didn't go long at all. I really didn't feel like running, body was achy and my chest was hurting. It was real windy outside and I didn't want to fight it. |

| Well today I broke the 150lb barrier!!! I am so excited, I left the house at 6:00 am and needed to run for 90 minutes. I ran out towards osbornes and ended up turning around at the 1 mile marker for the Speedy Spaniard. It was a great morning to run outside. I ran into Carl and ran for a mile or so with him, it was good to talk with him. The miles seemed to fly by today, it is actually kind of fun to run when you are in shape. Easy day tomorrow and then speed again on Thursday! |

| MAde it 1 mile from the house and then turned around and went back home. Chest was on fire and my head and nose was so congested! |

Ran out to the base of harry's and back home. Weather was great, I actually kind of ocer dressed. Speed work tomorrow...yeah?? Lower back is still a little achy but I think it is from the 8.5 hour drive home on Saturday from Lake Powell :)

| Today or should I say yesterday the schedule called for 8x3 min on 2 min off intervals. Left the house at 5:15 and ran out 24 minutes to the base of Harry's and then started the workout. 1 .50 (5:59) 2 .51 (5:54) 3 .51 (5:54) 4 .51 (5:54) 5 .52 (5:51) 6 .51 (5:54) 7 .52 (5:50) 8 .53 (5:48) total fast miles 4.11 (ave pace 5:50) I really didn't think I would do these well this morning, I was very tired and I wasn't feeling fast at all. After the first one I started feeling better and it seemed like each one got easier. My speed days will be messed up this week, but at least I will get them done. Cooled down for 15 min, now off to work!

Schedule called for 5x2k at 10k pace 6:02-6:14. Last time I did these they kicked my butt! And they did the same thing today!!! Warmed up for 24 minutes and then started them at mile 7 of the old Spanish Fork half course. Ran out towards Osbornes which meant the 3rd one would be uphill!! I really need to change that on my workouts! 2k 7:37.14 (6:09 pace)

Each of these only had a 400M rest so about 2:00 minutes was all the rest I got! By the 3rd one I was tired, by the 4th one I wanted to call it good, but I figured I had one more in me so I went for #5 and I felt pretty good! Long run tomorrow and I did skip some days this week so I need to quit that for next week. Just had crazy early mornings and then even crazier days and nights! 20 min cool down back home!

| Schedule showed 45 min run, ran out to the base of Harry's and back home. Lots and lots of birds singing today! Started out with a long sleeve shirt and then shed it for the way back home! Starting to see a lot of people out in the mornings! This week is a tough week for running, but next week has some killer workouts! |

| Did speed today because of an early morning turkey hunt yesterday! Plan called for 6x1000 m with 200 M rest @ 10k pace. Got out the door a little late so I only had time to warmup for 15 minutes and then cooled down for 17 minutes back home. I normally would have done these on a track but I hate the track and they seem to go by faster on the road. Plus it is more like racing in real conditions with the ups and downs! 1000 3:47 (6:07 pace) 1000 3:46 (6:04) 1000 3:46 (6:04) 1000 3:46 (6:04) 1000 3:45 (6:03) 1000 3:46 (6:04) I felt good during all of these and really could have ran more of them, but next week is a real tough week of running so I need to conserve a little this week.

| Met at Maple Mtn High School at 4:45 am and Desi drove us up to the top of the left hand fork of Hobble Creek. Plan was to run for 30 min and then start my 3x2 mile intervals with a 1 mile recovery. If I was feeling "frisky" I was allowed to run 4 of these and I was feeling good after the 3rd one but with my sub par week of running because of early morning work meetings I chose to only run 3 of the intervals. 2 mile 12:27.30 (6:12 pace) 2 mile 12:35.36 (6:17 pace) 2 mile 12:33.19 (6:15 pace) I needed to do these at 1/2 marathon pace which based on a 1:23:30 flat half time would be 6:23. I did these a little faster than that but I think that is close enough. The light on my Garmin won't work I hope it is just a glitch!! Finished the last 4 miles back to the High School and had to run one lap around the track to hit 4 miles!

| easy 45 minute run this morning. Temps were kind of chilly, fingers and hands are still numb from running. Busy week, full of work, soccer and hopefully some turkey hunting! |
